Liz is the owner of Balance Physiotherapy, established in 2004.
Formerly located in Halifax, Liz is excited to bring Balance Physiotherapy to New Glasgow at 851 Summer St.
Liz enjoys treating patients with orthopedic problems such as sprains and strains due to work or sports injury, whiplash, postural and back pain, arthritis, chronic pain and post surgical rehabilitation. She uses a combination of joint mobilizations and manipulations, trigger point dry needling, exercise and laser therapy in her approach. Liz’s hands on approach and down to earth personality have enabled her to heal many people.
In addition to treating patients, Liz spends many hours advocating for the profession of physiotherapy through her volunteer work with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association. Most recently she was elected Treasurer of the National Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Liz is an athletic person who enjoys basketball, running, swimming, yoga, snowboarding and weight training. Liz came to Pictou County for her husband Lachlan Gillis (a teacher at North Nova and soccer coach) and to raise their son Christian, and is looking forward to sharing her expertise in the area of Orthopedics with the people of Pictou County.
